Experimental Documentary “Sightseeing” 02 — Hakodate Mountain

When traveling, it’s always frustrating to squeeze among other travelers just to see the view and/or take a picture without so many random people in it. Experiencing this when I was in Japan, I suddenly had this idea to film the tourists. People are always more interesting to me than sceneries. Therefore, I made this experimental documentary about tourists. There was no planning, no script, no preparation, no performance; all I did was just find a place and start filming.
There’re four short films in this series, shot around four different travel spots in Japan. Watch and feel as if you were on location with me.
