Biography
The work of Arianne Olthaar (1970, Netherlands) consists of experimental films, photographs and miniature models. An important starting point in her recent work is a fascination for the time-phased ideals and design from the 1970s and 80s. The focus is on interiors in public buildings and public transport. Interiors that once represented an explicit modern luxury. Nowadays they have an aura of faded glory and are increasingly disappearing through renovation and demolishment.

Her previous work has been presented in a variety of exhibitions as well as numerous international film festivals, including Cinematexas, Media City Film and Video Festival/Windsor, International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, EMAF/Osnabrück, New York Film Festival, Onion City Experimental Film and Video Festival/Chicago, IFFR/Rotterdam.
