Mr X – Short Film

Working at MPC under the art direction of John Sunter this was a short film directed by Alex Nicholson. The big challenge with this was getting the tattoos to react on the skin as they should, and using a similar technique to what I did on BTAA (https://vimeo.com/81589715) I developed this further to allow more movement with the skin. It was all 2D tracking using After Effects and Mocha. Clean up of the skin was done practically on set and then refined in Nuke. Realflow by Simon Jones was used for a lot of the smokey ink effects as well as the running ink on the face. More info can be found here: http://www.moving-picture.com/work/mr-x
