the Evripus channel

This is a part of my city Chalkis by night near the bridge of Evripus channel and its unique phainomenon, which I had described on my film “the seaguls of the ebb”. In this film I need to show how the ambiguity dominates … humans and the environment are half-lit, half hidden, a shadow lighting pendulum between familiar or recognizable on the one hand and on the other lurking strange… The forms are taken from their operating environment, exposed only to deep dark -shading intensity- depth and mainly depend as reflections on their involvement in space, time and light …As the concept about beauty is completely subjective, the removal of the excess is a constant mental exercise and a persistent search for the crucial and substantiality. Realism, which does not prevent the issue to transcend pragmatism, and to refer directly to life and its spiritual dimension. The absolute and the relative, the finite and the infinite = places, stages of one and the same world . . . In memory of my father, who had a beautiful wooden boat and was also a great fisherman . . .
