VIOLET Episode 01 – A Story About A Girl

The introductory chapter in our web series, ‘VIOLET’, explores the moment when Narrator decided that he had to let go of his college love, Violet.

ABOUT US:
We are brothers, we are storytellers, and we are Ajay & Manu. We began this journey 2013 when we decided to combine our efforts towards becoming filmmakers.
By January 2014, we were working on film sets around Toronto, ON, before moving to Vancouver, BC. Here, we continued to work on set in various departments, most notably in Camera. Our on-set journey saw us work on everything from music videos, commercials, TV shows, indie projects and feature films.
By January 2015, we continued to work on-set, though we scaled back our efforts significantly in order to focus heavily on finishing a screenplay to story we’d been nurturing for a while: ‘VIOLET’.
In early 2016, we started our YouTube channel in order to build an audience, experiment, and create our own content.
This video showcases the opening sequence from our story, ‘VIOLET’.
Through the series, we hope to understand what works for the story, and to build support for the feature film that we’ll eventually shoot.
We were heavily inspired by Casey Neistat’s Draw My Life video, and adopted that approach towards telling this story.
We wish to express our thanks to Panavision Vancouver, specifically to Stefan, for their support, and hospitality. The video was shot in the Panavision warehouse, an interesting environment and a constant source of inspiration.
